If you are an HAA member and want to be added to the email distribution list contact HAA. We'll get you signed up for the weekly "HAA This Week" email and other informational pieces!
Chat
A member benefit was unveiled in September 2010 on the HAA website. If you have a question, comment or issue, you can immediately chat with an HAA staff member through an instant message.
To chat with an HAA staff member, just log-in on the HAA homepage. A log-in is required, because chats are only available to HAA members. Once a member is logged in, he can choose which department he would like to visit with by clicking on the link next to their department name. If a staff member from a department is unavailable, their phone number will appear instead of a chat icon.
When a chat is initiated, a chat screen will appear:
Simply click on the “Compose message here…” and begin typing your message. Click on the “Send IM” button to send it. If a staff member has stepped away from their desk and is unable to chat, after 90 seconds you will have the option of emailing them your message.
The chat option is available for the following departments:
- Education
- Government Affairs
- Member Services
- Resident Relations
- Special Events
- Supplier Services
The HAA staff is committed to providing outstanding customer service to members.
Social Media Policy
The Houston Apartment Association’s social media policies refer to the guidelines for engaging and using HAA’s social media platforms. HAA Social Media Platforms refer to HAA-initiated groups, feeds, videos, channels, streams, events and other content on third-party social media sites.
HAA may utilize social media platforms for communications with members. In addition, these platforms are open for members to use to engage with one another.
HAA desires an association that is both free of harassment and sensitive to the diversity of our members. Therefore, we do not allow members to use social media platforms in ways that are disruptive, offensive to others, or harmful to morale.
HAA does not allow posting of sexually explicit images, messages, and cartoons. Social media platforms may not be used for ethnic slurs, racial comments, or off-color jokes.
HAA does not allow the unauthorized use, installation, copying, or distribution of copyrighted, trademarked, or patented material on social media platforms.
HAA does not allow posting of negative comments about public officials.
HAA’s social media platforms may not be used for the purpose of marketing one’s business in an overt fashion. This includes job postings, candidate searches and other solicitations of any kind. Any posting that is deemed to violate this Social Media Policy will be removed by site administrators.
HAA monitors its social media platforms for any content that it believes is inappropriate or otherwise inconsistent with the best interests of HAA and its members. HAA reserves the right to delete such content.
If you know about any violations to this policy, notify site administrators, HAA’s Executive Vice President or any member of management.
HAA reserves the right to create any groups, pages, communities and promotional material that bear the Houston Apartment Association, HAA, HAF, HAA PAC name or any of its related committees or events. Any HAA member or member companies should consult with HAA staff before creating such pages or promotions. If such pages or events are created without approval, HAA may request that they be taken down. This includes Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat or any other social media platforms.
