Welcome Lauren Owens!

HAA would like to introduce our newest member to the team! Lauren Owens will be the Strategic Growth Coordinator for HAA. This newly created position is an exciting opportunity for HAA to improve outreach to members in counties and municipalities outside of Harris County and the City of Houston. Lauren joins the Public Affairs Department, but will also be assisting in Membership and Education Department projects.
Here's what Lauren had to say about herself:
My
name is Lauren Owens. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with
a BS in Hospitality Administration, Meeting and Event Planning. Upon
graduating, I worked for a meeting and association management company for two
years. I was responsible for new member applications, and providing membership
support as well as assisting in coordinating annual meetings for four
medical societies. I am a highly enthusiastic, self-motivated and
service-focused individual. When I am not working, I am either playing soccer
or watching it. I have season tickets to the Houston Dynamo and play in several
adult soccer leagues. In addition to being active, I love to cook and bake!
I
am currently the Strategic Growth Coordinator for HAA. My primary functions will
consist of being the key liaison for the Strategic Growth Committee as well as
collaborating with the Chair on outreach ideas. I will develop and maintain
Council Committees as well as create opportunities for communication to and
from the Councils to express that information to the HAA Vice Presidents at
Large for the region. My tasks also
include coordinating events with educational and political speakers that are
appropriate to Councils. I will act as an ambassador to promote educational and accreditation programs
to members in Council Committees,
and identify new
membership in the Council areas. I am excited to begin this new chapter of my
life with the Houston Apartment Association and build lasting relationships all
throughout the apartment industry!
